Leaving? No hard feelings

This page is for the Interdependence app, made by Interdependence Fitness Limited (company number 17420484, registered in England and Wales). If you want your account and everything in it gone, here are the two ways to do it. Neither involves talking you out of it.

Do it yourself, in the app

  1. Open Interdependence and sign in.
  2. In the app, open the You tab, then Help, legal and about.
  3. Scroll to the red Danger Zone at the bottom and tap Delete my account, then confirm.

It happens straight away, not in a queue, and it signs you out of every device. If you might want your data later, export it first from the same menu: it's yours to keep.

Or ask us to do it

Email privacy@interdependence.app from the email address your account uses, with "Delete my account" as the subject. We'll delete it and reply to confirm within a month, and usually much sooner. If you can't email from that address any more, say so and we'll find another way to check the account is yours before we delete anything. Prefer a form? Use our contact form, and pick "My data and privacy".

What gets deleted

Everything tied to your account, including:

  • your login and profile: email, name, password and recovery answer (both stored scrambled)
  • workouts, templates, training blocks, cardio, WODs and personal records
  • food logs, recipes, saved meals, targets and water
  • weigh-ins, measurements, progress photos and body scans
  • check-ins, notes, injuries and your health profile, including any GLP-1 answers
  • Shared Progress: your shared workouts and templates, follows and kudos
  • coach connections, bookings and gym check-ins
  • your messages with coaches and clients, which are deleted for both of you, and any report you made about a message or that was made about one you wrote
  • if you're an approved coach, your community chat messages, and any report you made about one or that was made about one you wrote
  • bug reports and suggestions you sent, with their screenshots and videos

If you corrected a shared food's weight or a gym's equipment list, the correction stays for everyone (it's catalogue information, not yours), but your email comes off it.

If you're a coach, your clients keep what is theirs. Plans and nutrition targets they accepted from you stay with them. Their access log, consent history and bookings keep their side of the record, but your name and email come off it, so it shows as a coach who has left.

Data stored only on your phone (like your settings) goes when you uninstall the app. Anything you sent to Health Connect on Android, or Apple Health on iPhone, stays there, where you can delete it yourself.

What we keep, and why

  • A deletion receipt: a one-way scrambled fingerprint of your email and the date, so we can show we did what you asked if anyone ever checks. It can't be turned back into your email address. We keep it for six years, then delete it.
  • Messages after a connection ends: if you or your coach end a connection but nobody deletes an account, the conversation closes and stays readable and exportable for 30 days, then it's deleted.
  • Backups: our encrypted backups still hold a copy until they age out, within 90 days. We never restore a deleted account from them.
  • Nothing for the taxman: Interdependence doesn't take payments, so there are no payment records we're required to keep.

More on what we collect and why is in the privacy policy.
